5 O'Clock Shadow

ISTD briefs are fundamentally led by narrative and concept, the requirements were to go through a number of categories and then choose on that best t. As a category of choice I chose Fickle Fads, and within that I chose the most astounding of them all which was moustaches.

By zooming into the photographs I managed to capture the facial hair at such an angle that the facial hair starts to look like pubic hair. Allowing the mind to wonder and create an image of its own. And to make it bitter sweet I chose poetry that told di erent stories of a man’s facial hair.
The name of the book takes after a man’s rather dark stubble that appears on a man’s face some hours after shaving, typically in the late afternoon if he shaved in the morning. Therefore the book taking the name “5 O’clock Shadow”.
